What to expect during your visit to the doctor

A well-child exam:

Once a year for children ages three to six. The doctor will offer advice about your child’s dental health, exercise and physical activity, diet and nutrition, sun exposure, injury and violence prevention. During this exam, your child may also receive immunizations (also known as vaccinations, vaccines or shots) and developmental screenings, as your doctor advises.
