Enhancements to HIP's Secure Provider Web Site!

You might notice some improvements to HIP Connected, HIP's secure provider site on hipusa.com. Here is a brief description of the improvements:

• Providers will be able to insert comments on referrals, prior approval requests and Emergency Room (ER) admission notifications.
• Anyone who can inquire on a referral or prior approval will be able to fax copies of these documents to a member or provider.
• Referral and prior approval searches will now include the option of adding "Service Type" to your search criteria.
• You will be able to query system users using an alphabetical search rather than the current numeric search.

EmblemHealth.com Provider Portal Improvements
To further our coming together as one organization, during 2011 we will migrate all HIP providers to our secure provider Web site, myEmblemHealth on emblemhealth.com. GHI providers were migrated to emblemhealth.com last summer. Programming and testing are currently underway to make sure that this is a smooth transition for our HIP providers, as well. Please look for policy alerts on our Web site which announce the start of these new functions.

HIP providers will benefit from:

• An enhanced message center with the ability to communicate back and forth with customer service.
• A new improved "look" for HIP's referral, prior approval and ER notification functions.
• A simplified security application.
• Availability of check images.
• Improved PCP panel reports and member eligibility details.
• Delivery of the Concurrent Review Status Report used by hospitals and skilled nursing facilities to "My Reports" instead of the "My Messages" area.

In addition to the migration, modifications to screens and features in myEmblemHealth are being made to benefit all our network providers. For example, you may look forward to:

• Increased ability to download claims reports into Excel.
• Clearer navigation to member eligibility and benefit information.
• e-Prescribing functionality.
• Introduction of role-based security access (for GHI and GHI HMO providers). This will allow you to create users under your account, with various levels of permissions.
