Notices are being sent to GHI HMO contracted providers in anticipation of merging GHI HMO into HIP Health Plan of New York. Pending approval from New York State Departments of Health and Financial Services, respectively, this planned merger will be effective November 1, 2012. more

Web Usage Updates for Network Providers

Starting November 1, 2012, Web usage updates will go into effect for GHI HMO providers, hospitals, GHI HMO-contracted hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. In addition a new prior approval CPT/HCPCs lookup tool will be added. more

New EmblemHealth Radiation Therapy Program and Changes to the EmblemHealth Cardiology Imaging and Radiology Programs

On October 1, 2012, EmblemHealth will introduce a new Radiation Therapy Program. In addition, on that date changes to our Cardiology Imaging and Radiology programs will be implemented. more

New Prior Approval List

Starting November 1, 2012, a new prior approval list will apply to all commercial and state-sponsored benefit plans underwritten by GHI HMO Select, Inc., HIP Health Plan of New York, HIP Insurance Plan of New York and Vytra Health Plans Managed Systems. more

High-Risk Medications for Elderly Patients

Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services has listed certain drugs as high-risk medications for patients over age 65. These therapies should be evaluated for your older patients. more
