Go Green at Enrollment – In Just
Three Easy Steps
Today’s employees are busy — very busy, but almost always within reach of their computer, mobile device or smartphone. Choosing to go paperless and receive health plan communications via email is a great way for members to stay on top of their health plan, and it’s good for the environment!
Encourage your groups to set up their employees’ paperless preferences at the time they enroll in their health plan. It just takes three easy steps:
Step 1: The group or member provides EmblemHealth with
their email address.
- Option A: Groups can have the “paperless at enrollment” indicator mapped to their EDI 834 file transmission. That way, when they submit enrollment information to EmblemHealth, they’ll be able to select which plan members would like to receive paperless communications.
- Option B: If employees complete their own enrollment form, they can simply check the “go paperless” box on the form and provide their email address.
For either option, it is important that EmblemHealth receive the member’s email address.
Step 2: EmblemHealth sends the employee an email to register at myEmblemHealth.
When an employee’s email address is provided at enrollment, they’ll receive an email from us that walks them through the registration process for access to their secure myEmblemHealth account.
Step 3: The member signs into myEmblemHealth and selects their paperless preferences.
Once signed in, they will be able to select which types of communications they would like to receive via email, and/or text.
