We have made some minor changes to how you will enter referrals and prior approval requests on hipusa.com and our interactive voice response (IVR) phone system.
Changes were made in order to support the development of our HIP VIP Dual Eligible Medicaid Advantage Plus-Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plan and to set the stage for future enhancements to the functionality of our secure provider portal.
Now, when you enter a prior approval or referral request on hipusa.com, the member's ID and the proposed date of service will be collected on the first screen. Once you click "Next," the second screen will continue the transaction in the same way as before. However, you will be presented with updated dropdown menus showing the services that are available to that member.
We will keep you apprised of future enhancements as they are developed.
