Lead Testing Benefit Changes
NYSDOH announced that managed care plans now cover point-of-care blood lead testing for children less than six years of age and pregnant women who are enrolled in Medicaid and/or FHPlus.

GHI HMO and GHI PPO Will Withdraw From the Medicaid, FHPlus and CHPlus Programs in Selected Counties, Effective 01/01/2010
(For GHI HMO and GHI PPO Medicaid, FHPlus and CHPlus Plans)
As of January 1, 2010, GHI HMO and GHI PPO will no longer participate in the Medicaid, Family Health Plus or Child Health Plus programs in 21 upstate counties. Information is provided on member enrollment, Medicaid Managed Care plan coverage options available in those counties, and continuity of care procedures during this transitional period.

HIP to Cover Family Planning Services for Westchester Medicaid Members, Effective 11/01/09

As of November 1, 2009, HIP will begin covering family planning and reproductive health services for its Westchester County Medicaid members. HIP already covers these services for all other enrolled Medicaid members.
