EmblemHealth is committed to the inclusion of diversified and woman-owned suppliers for competitive bid opportunities for the procurement of goods and services. Furthermore, we are committed to building a supplier base that reflects the diversity of the areas in which we operate.

Recognizing the difficulty for historically underutilized businesses to gain access to opportunity, EmblemHealth has developed and implemented a formal process to provide assistance to them. Suppliers seeking to do business with EmblemHealth must be fully competitive in:
If a company is seeking to do business with EmblemHealth as a diversified supplier, they must be certified as such. EmblemHealth does not have a formal certification program; we honor New York and New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. www.nynjmsdc.org Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), www.wbenc.com, regional, state and government certification. If a supplier is not certified, we encourage them to become certified.

A majority of suppliers contracted with EmblemHealth are also encouraged to support the supplier diversity initiatives set forth by EmblemHealth, making a concerted effort to subcontract to diverse businesses.
Contracted second tier suppliers must be able to provide a quarterly report showing the diverse supplier subcontracted, direct and/or indirect purchases as it relates to EmblemHealth.

Your material will be reviewed for potential opportunities with EmblemHealth and we will obtain a business information report of your organization.
Your information will be entered in our supplier diversity database. If an opportunity arises, you might be contacted, and depending on the timing and current activity, you may be pre-qualified to ascertain if you meet our minimum requirements.
If no current opportunity exists, we will maintain your information in our database for future opportunities.
If we cannot use your goods and services, we will keep your information in our database and will make every effort to refer your company to other businesses that may have opportunities for you.
