ValueOptions© to Become Benefits Administrator for
Emblem Behavioral Health Services Program
on January 1, 2012

We recently sent you advance notice about the upcoming change of vendor for your clients' mental health and substance abuse (MH/SA) benefits administration. The start-up date has been finalized.

Effective January 1, 2012, ValueOptions, the nation's largest independent administrator of mental health and substance abuse benefits and wellness services, will become the benefits administrator for the Emblem Behavioral Health Services Program. This transition will apply to members of plans
underwritten by HIP Health Plan of New York (HIP) and HIP Insurance Company of New York (HIPIC), including HIP-branded plans and the EmblemHealth-branded CompreHealth EPO/HMO plans, as well as GHI HMO plans.

We are sending a letter to your affected HIP and GHI HMO clients announcing the official start-up date for ValueOptions and providing more details about the transition. We will also be sending letters to group members whose care may be affected by the transition. Members of GHI HMO plans will receive new ID cards, which will become effective on January 1, 2012.

We believe that the transition to ValueOptions will enhance the MH/SA services we provide to your clients and their employees.
