Hurricane Sandy Update for Brokers

Our heartfelt thoughts and concern go out to those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

To expedite care for your clients' plan members, EmblemHealth has suspended all authorization requirements. Prior authorization for the provision of urgent services for members in evacuated and affected areas has been waived. In addition, early prescription refill requests will be approved so that members have access to needed medications.

  • Members in need of urgent care should seek care from participating and non-participating providers.
  • If they have a prescription drug plan, members can get valid refills from any in-network pharmacy. Our network pharmacies will be able to assist in obtaining needed medications and refills.
  • Replacement ID cards and access to EmblemHealth's secure member portal and online doctor search can be found here.
