NY State of Health Members: Paying Your Monthly Bill

Thanks for signing up for an EmblemHealth Select Care or Essential Plan through the NY State of Health Marketplace. You can pay your premium (monthly plan cost) by following the instructions on this page.

Important!

Brand-New 2016 Enrollees: To have active coverage, we must receive your premium payment no later than 10 days after the due date listed on your invoice.

First 2016 Premium for New Enrollees:

You have two choices for paying your first 2016 premium:

  • Pay online. You can pay here. The invoice email we sent you also guides you through online payment.
  • By mail. Send us your payment with the bill we sent to your home.

Have your member ID number ready
You will need your member ID number to make your first 2016 payment. You can find this number on the two notices we sent you about paying your bill.

Haven’t received your invoice email or mailed bill yet?
We may still be processing your application. This may take up to 48 hours from the time you submitted your application.

Second and All Other 2016 Premiums:

The following instructions apply only if you’ve already paid your first 2016 premium. If not, please refer to the instructions above, under “First 2016 Premium for New Enrollees.”

You have four choices for paying your second and all future 2016 premiums:

  1. Auto bill-pay (online). This service automatically withdraws your premium from your bank account.
  2. Monthly (online). Each month you’ll receive an invoice in your secure online member account, and you can pay there. Please allow 2 to 3 business days from the time you get the email for the invoice to appear. To pay online:
    1. Sign in to or register for your secure online member account.
    2. Click “Pay Your Bill” under “Tools That Help You.”
    3. Follow the instructions under “Pay My Bill.”
  3. By phone. Call 1-888-447-7703 and choose the option to pay by phone — through your checking or savings account, or with your Visa or MasterCard.
  4. By mail. Send in a check with the bill you get in the mail.

EmblemHealth’s auto bill-pay program takes the work out of paying your premium by automatically withdrawing your premium from your bank account each month.

Did you have automatic bill-payments in 2015?
If so, please note these important updates:

  • Returning Select Care members: Your automatic payments will continue in 2016. Your January 2016 payment reflected your new premium amount, which appears on your notice from the NY State of Health Marketplace.
  • Essential Plan members who had a Select Care plan in 2015: You will need to reapply for automatic payments.

Do you want automatic bill-payments in 2016?
You can sign up only after paying your first 2016 premium. To enroll:

  1. Sign in to or register for your secure online member account at emblemhealth.com.
  2. Click “Pay Your Bill” under “Tools That Help You.”
  3. Click “Set Up Auto Bill-Pay” under “Pay My Bill.” (Note: Please do not click “One-Time-Payment” to join auto bill-pay. “One-Time-Payment” is what you click to make a single payment.)
  4. Follow the instructions to set up payments.
Note! Auto Bill-Pay vs. Online Premium Payments
Joining our auto bill-pay program is a separate process from paying your first 2016 premium online. You need to pay your first 2016 premium before you can sign up for auto bill-pay. Auto bill-pay cannot be used to pay the first month’s premium. Once you pay for the first month, you can join auto bill-pay from the home page of your secure online member account, myEmblemHealth.
