Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a disorder that progressively affects the function of nerves and muscles. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge inspired millions of people to dump gallons of water on their heads in support of a cure, and ALS Awareness Month is the perfect time to support and learn more about the cause.
Note: Support groups are a great resource for people to share practical experiences and help each other in the journey to live productive, fulfilling lives in spite of ALS. Click here to find a support group near you.
