EmblemHealth President & CEO Karen Ignagni received the 2017 Healthcare Leadership Award at the 2nd Annual Heritage Healthcare Innovation Awards for New York on May 22 held at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan.
The ceremony, which honors innovators who have improved the quality of affordable healthcare in the community, was hosted by Heritage Provider Network (HPN) and Crain’s Custom Studio, a division of Crain’s New York Business.
Ignagni spoke about EmblemHealth’s transformation and thanked the company’s employees for their work and dedication.
Winners were announced in the following five categories:
Heritage Innovation in Healthcare Delivery Award: Nora V. Bergasa, MD, MACP, FAASLD, AGAF, Professor of Medicine, New York Medical College; Chief of Medicine, NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.
Heritage Technology Innovator in Healthcare Award: Gil Addo
CEO and Co-founder, RubiconMD.
Heritage Research Investigators in Translational Medicine Award: Carl Nathan, MD
R. A. Rees Pritchett Professor of Microbiology; Chairman, Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Weill Cornell Medical College.
Heritage Healthcare Leadership Award: Karen Ignagni
President and CEO, EmblemHealth.
Heritage Healthcare Organizational Leadership Award: Steven Safyer, MD
President and CEO, Montefiore Medicine.
