Announcing Broker Compensation for the NY Bridge Plan

GHI is pleased to announce that licensed New York State brokers, who are appointed with GHI, will be eligible to receive a one-time payment of $200 for each successfully enrolled member of the NY Bridge Plan. This incentive program begins on September 1, 2011, and runs until April 30, 2012.

How this one-time offering works: Member prospects can apply online or print and mail their application for processing. We've included a space for the broker’s name and license number in the "How Heard" category on page 4 of the application. This section must be completed.

Upon receipt of the first month's premium, a $200 check will be mailed to the broker for each applicant enrolled. To be eligible for the NY Bridge Plan, applicants must be:

  • A New York State resident
  • A citizen or legal US resident*
  • Diagnosed with a medical condition, and
  • Uninsured for six months at the date of application

For questions about what it takes to qualify for NY Bridge Plan coverage, call our eligibility specialists at 1-866-693-9277.

The NY Bridge Plan, New York's Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, is administered by GHI, an EmblemHealth company.

Note:  The decision to offer this incentive was made in collaboration with the NY State Insurance Department to increase enrollment in the plan. Broker assistance is not required to enroll in the NY Bridge Plan. Instead, it is simply an additional method for applicants to enroll in the plan.

Prospective members can still apply online or download and complete the required application without a broker.

* A legal U.S. resident is defined at 45 C.F.R 152.2.
