New Low-Cost Plan Available for Small Groups

EmblemHealth HealthEssentials EPO

The EmblemHealth HealthEssentials EPO plan is now available for small groups in the downstate region which includes New York City, Westchester, Rockland and Long Island.

HealthEssentials is a new low-cost option that offers peace of mind to groups and allows them to control their premium costs. With groups looking for an alternative to higher-priced products, this plan can fit the bill. It provides coverage for full preventive care, as well as hospital-billed services within our National network of facilities here in the tristate and throughout all 50 states.

The plan covers services like:

  • Hospital inpatient services (performed and billed by a hospital or facility)
  • Preventive care (including all PPACA services, covered in full in network)
  • Outpatient services (performed and billed by a hospital or facility)
  • Inpatient and outpatient treatment for chemical dependency and mental health
  • Generic prescription drug coverage with a small copay

Note that, except for preventive care, medical services that are billed by a physician (rather than a network hospital or surgical center) are not covered under this plan.

Value-added services include:

  • Discounts on weight-loss programs, massage therapy, hearing care and more
  • 24/7 access to the Employee Assistance Program and our nurse advice line

A sales sheet with 4th quarter 2012 rates is now available to brokers. A brief summary of the plan can be found in the Health Plans section of our web site, under the "EPO Plans" heading. Please note that the rates should be available on HealthConnect on Friday, September 14.
