Inaugural event recognizes organizations for their contributions
to Harlem

NEW YORK, NY (March 13, 2013) — EmblemHealth, the largest New York-based health insurer, honored seven nonprofit organizations during the company's inaugural "Commitment to Care — Lecture and Award Series" event on Wednesday, March 6.

The evening reception, lecture and awards ceremony was held at The Studio Museum in Harlem. Following a lecture by Michael Maslansky, CEO of maslansky + partners and author of The Language of Trust: Selling Ideas in a World of Skeptics, honorees were recognized by EmblemHealth representatives.

"These nonprofit organizations represent the soul of New York City. EmblemHealth is proud to recognize their tireless efforts and successes in building a more caring, more vibrant Harlem," said Charlene Maher, Chief Marketing Officer of EmblemHealth and the event's master of ceremonies.

The Commitment to Care program was created by EmblemHealth to recognize New York City nonprofit organizations for their contributions to the communities they serve. The evening's awards and honorees were:
