CPT code 31634 (bronchoscopy: rigid or flexible, including fluoroscopic guidance, when performed; with balloon occlusion, with assessment of air leak, with administration of occlusive substance [e.g., fibrin glue], if performed) is considered to be an unproven technology due to insufficient evidence of safety and/or efficacy. As EmblemHealth considers this service to be investigational and/or experimental in nature, CPT code 31634 will not be reimbursed effective May 15, 2016.
