Medicaid Smoking Cessation Counseling (SCC) Benefit – Starting Nov. 1, 2020

Starting Nov. 1, 2020, EmblemHealth will remove service limits on smoking cessation counseling (SCC). Previously, SCC services were limited to eight (8) sessions per calendar year. Instead, EmblemHealth will now cover as many sessions as medically necessary.

This benefit is available to Medicaid and HARP members who use smokeless tobacco products (dip, chew, snuff, etc.), cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or vaping of nicotine products.
