Preauthorization Required for Medicaid Children’s Home and Community Based Services

As a reminder, EmblemHealth requires preauthorization for the following Medicaid Children’s Home and Community Based Services (HCBS):

  • Palliative Care
  • Vehicle Modifications
  • Environmental Modifications
  • Adaptive and Assistive Technology

Beginning Sept. 6, 2021, we will no longer cover these services without preauthorization. 
 

For further information on preauthorization requirements for HCBS, refer to Appendix E of the Children's Home and Community Based Services Manual.
