Community Resource Day gets Queens Visitors Informed and Moving Through Newly Launched Mind and Body Well-Being Program Focused on Asian Americans

In response to the rise in chronic and diet-related diseases, such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes in New York, EmblemHealth, one of the largest non-profit health insurers in the United States, recently hosted a chronic disease educational resource day at its Neighborhood Care Elmhurst location in Queens.

EmblemHealth, a mission-driven nonprofit with a more than 80-year legacy of serving New York’s communities, recently hosted a Mental Health Resources fair to break the stigma around mental health and connect community members with resources and organizations offering mental health services.

In the month of October, EmblemHealth proudly participated in over forty events to promote community well-being in the city. The EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care and Community Engagement team held events ranging from diabetes screenings and classes to activities promoting breast cancer awareness.

New York health plan’s community-based resource locations take home Silver and Bronze in the 17th Annual Stevie® Award program.
