During the COVID-19 outbreak, EmblemHealth understands the need to provide our members with access to dental telehealth visits and will support you in continuing to care for our members.
Enclosed are EmblemHealth’s Teledentistry Guidelines for Dental Providers. These guidelines are currently in effect and will now expire on June 30, 2020. Key highlights include:
- We are closely following the American Dental Association’s (ADA) Interim Guidance for Coding and Billing for access to care via teledentistry, released on March 25, 2020. EmblemHealth has also implemented its own specific guidelines, attached.
- We have not stopped processing claims during the COVID-19 outbreak. Continue to send claims for services performed in your office. Reimbursement will be made according to the member’s benefit plan and the fee schedule.
