An Important Reminder About Urgent Care for GHI CBP Members

Please remember that ProHEALTH Urgent Care centers and CityMD Urgent Care centers have a $100 copay. All other participating urgent care centers continue to have a $50 copay. Read more here.

Update regarding the $15 co-pay for the GHI Senior Care Plan

EmblemHealth has suspended the $15 copay for certain services offered through the GHI Senior Care Plan due to ongoing litigation and pursuant to court order. Until further notice, there will be no $15 copay for the services listed below.

  • Office visits (PCPs)
  • Office visits (Specialists)
  • Urgent Care
  • Allergy Testing/Injections
  • Chiropractic Services
  • Podiatry (non-Routine)
  • Cardiac Rehab
  • Pulmonary Rehab
  • Vision Care (Medicare-covered)
  • PT, OT & Speech therapy
  • Diagnostic lab/X-ray (including Hi Tech Imaging)
  • Radiation therapy
  • Outpatient - Mental Health
  • Outpatient - Substance Use Disorder

City of New York retirees who are GHI Senior Care Plan subscribers are being mailed this letter about the change.

Teladoc is now available to City of New York GHI CBP, VIP Premier, and VIP Rx Carve Out plan members.

It is an easy, convenient way to access doctors for treatment of non-emergency conditions like a cold, allergies, skin problems, respiratory infections, or bronchitis.

If you need care now, are traveling out of town, or are considering going to the Emergency Room (ER) or Urgent Care for a non-emergency issue, Teladoc doctors may be able help right away.

      - GHI CBP and VIP Premier - All Teladoc visits have a $10 copay.

The City and its unions have partnered with Best Doctors, an expert medical review service, to provide eligible employees and dependents covered under the EmblemHealth GHI CBP plan a free medical review of their cancer diagnosis from world-renowned oncologists. The carefully selected Best Doctors experts will also gain insight from the artificial intelligence tools from IBM Watson Health.

These tools provide comprehensive details on treatment options and can be used to match you to available clinical trials based on your unique case details. When there is no room for error, take advantage of your Best Doctors expert medical review benefit.
