NEW YORK, NY (October 18, 2013) — EmblemHealth, the largest New York-based health insurer and wellness company, honored six nonprofit organizations during its fourth “Commitment to Care Lecture & Award Series” on Tuesday, October 8 at the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA).

The Commitment to Care program recognizes nonprofit organizations committed to enhancing the lives of countless individuals throughout New York City. EmblemHealth hosted the evening reception, lecture and awards ceremony to celebrate these organizations.

Featured speaker Sana Hashmi, Director of Health Care Reform and Product Design, EmblemHealth, shared information on health care reform, NY State of Health, the official health plan marketplace, and provided tips on how nonprofit leaders can use health care reform to enhance their missions and benefit the community.

Following the lecture, honorees were recognized and presented with an award by EmblemHealth representatives.

“I’ve had the pleasure of personally knowing many of these nonprofits that are building a lasting foundation crucial to the future success of New York through their unflagging efforts and dedication,” said Charles P. Wang, President, China AIDS Fund; Member, EmblemHealth Board of Directors and the event’s award presenter. “EmblemHealth shares in their commitment as we move forward and continue to make positive changes in the Chinese and Asian-American communities we serve.”
