NEW YORK, NY (June 3, 2013) — The Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service and EmblemHealth, the largest New York-based health plan, will sponsor a family caregiving summit June 10 to provide support and resources to people facing the many issues of caregiving.
Presented by the New York City Partnership for Family Caregiving Corps (NYCP4FC Corps), "Family Caregiving: Name it and Know Its Many Faces," will be held at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, 113 West 60th Street, New York, NY, Lowenstein Building, 12th Floor Lounge. The event from 8:30 am to 3 pm will be followed by a question and answer session with representatives from many organizations serving family caregivers. The public is invited to attend and enjoy breakfast, lunch and coffee compliments of EmblemHealth.
More than 65 million people in the United States are family caregivers, many of them performing medical and nursing tasks for loved ones. Most have no formal training and can feel alone in providing care. The speakers at the summit will provide context and support so caregivers can understand how they must care for themselves so they can continue to provide care to others.
