NEW YORK, NY (July 10, 2025) — EmblemHealth, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health insurers, wrapped up the early summer months with dozens of community-centered events through EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care and community engagement efforts. These events shared timely health resources, celebrated New York City’s vibrant culture, and fostered social connections across communities throughout the city.
EmblemHealth’s Government Relations team held an LGBTQ+ Health Webinar during Pride Month. Assemblymember Steven Raga joined and said, “Thank you to EmblemHealth for making the space so we can share our stories and expertise. Greg Rider, the director of Corporate Compliance at EmblemHealth, hosted the conversation where he was joined by a panel of experts, including Sara Kaplan-Levenson, the assistant vice president of Behavioral Health at EmblemHealth; Dr. Sohaib Majeed, an internist at AdvantageCare Physicians; and Jane Clementi, the CEO and cofounder of the Tyler Clementi Foundation.
EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care hosted farmers markets at their locations, including Crown Heights, Fordham Road, and Harlem. Partnerships with New York City Councilmembers Crystal Hudson, Oswald Feliz, and Yusef Salaam facilitated more than 200 produce bag giveaways.
EmblemHealth’s Community Relations team participated in several events throughout New York City, including The Bronx Ball and the Coalition of Asian-American IPA (CAIPA) Asian Heritage Night, among many others. Later this summer, they will team up with EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care locations to distribute thousands of backpacks at more than 20 events across the city in time for students to gear up for September's back-to-school season.
EmblemHealth remains dedicated to promoting health outcomes by connecting New Yorkers with the care and resources they need right in their neighborhoods.
