Kick-Off Event on June 25
NEW YORK, NY (June 24, 2013) — EmblemHealth and the 125th Street Farmer's Market are offering locally grown fruits and vegetables and health and wellness screenings to the people of Harlem all summer long, beginning Tuesday, June 25.
The 125th Street Farmer's Market is located in front of the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building at 163 West 125th Street Plaza. The farmer's market opens at 10 am every Tuesday through November 26 and is sponsored by EmblemHealth.
The community is invited to an official opening ceremony on June 25 from 12:30–2 pm with a chef demonstration from Cesare "Chez" DeChellis, Executive Chef of Tolani Wine Restaurant and Harlem resident. It will also feature the New York Knicks Groove Truck and remarks from Lloyd Williams, President and CEO of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, Willie Walker, Building Superintendent, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building and David Flemister, Director, Community Marketing at EmblemHealth.
Along with purchasing seasonal produce from the farmer's market, residents also have the opportunity to participate in activities throughout the day, including Zumba®, yoga and a jump rope challenge.
