FREE FLU SHOTS for City of New York Employees
The City and its unions are partnering with EmblemHealth to offer free flu shots to City employees and their families. All employees, dependents, and pre-Medicare retirees eligible for New York City health benefits are covered to receive a flu vaccination at no-cost.
A flu shot is the best way to protect yourself, your community, and your loved ones from this highly contagious virus. Everyone aged 6 months and older should get the flu vaccine every year.
There are four convenient ways to get your vaccination, so don’t delay!

The City and its unions have partnered with Best Doctors, an expert medical review service, to provide eligible employees and dependents covered under the EmblemHealth GHI CBP Plan a free medical review of their cancer diagnosis from world-renowned oncologists. The carefully selected Best Doctors experts will also gain insight from the artificial intelligence tools from IBM Watson Health. These tools provide comprehensive details on treatment options and can be used to match you to available clinical trials based on your unique case details. When there is no room for error, take advantage of your Best Doctors expert medical review benefit. The Best Doctors medical review program is provided directly by or through the City of New York and its unions. It is not underwritten, administered, or offered by EmblemHealth.
HIP HMO Preferred
Your HIP HMO Preferred plan continues to offer you $0 copayments for office visits when you choose a Preferred Primary Care Physician (PCP) provider from the Prime Network.

Opioid Abuse Treatment
EmblemHealth will now cover you for medicines used to treat substance-use disorders. This includes medicines usually prescribed for opioid addiction and dependence. These medicines, along with counseling and behavioral therapies, can successfully treat these disorders and help with recovery.

Low Dose Generic Statins
Effective July 1, 2018, EmblemHealth will cover low to moderate dose generic statins for eligible members and non-Medicare eligible retirees ages 40-75 under your GHI CBP and HIP HMO plan in accordance with the Affordable Care Act.
