EmblemHealth’s Transition to Value-Based Payments
The American Journal of Managed Care recently spoke with EmblemHealth President and CEO, Karen Ignagni, about the health care industry’s transition toward improving affordability and access to care for patients and members.
Innovative health plan strategies are only one component to an effective value-based payment and care model. Maintaining strong relationships with regulators, providers and members helps foster creative and effective ideas that ensure the delivery of quality care.
Affordability improvements are occurring systemwide, and even government agencies are working fast to meet value-based payment goals. Now, more than ever health, care organizations need to work together to utilize individual strengths that can turn into collective value. Ignagni commented, “Our role as a health plan is to support their [providers, clinicians, hospitals] efforts wherever they are, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all in terms of our value-based strategy.”
